{"id":1017,"date":"2018-07-08T16:04:00","date_gmt":"2018-07-08T16:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/propertyandlivestock.com.au\/?p=1017"},"modified":"2020-05-11T17:16:45","modified_gmt":"2020-05-11T17:16:45","slug":"the-2018-guide-to-the-first-home-owners-grant-in-nsw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/propertyandlivestock.com.au\/en_au\/the-2018-guide-to-the-first-home-owners-grant-in-nsw\/","title":{"rendered":"The 2018 guide to the First Home Owners Grant in NSW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The first home owner grant (FHOG) in NSW.&nbsp;(Source: The NSW State Office of Revenue)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the FHOG in NSW, there are several schemes which have been developed to help first home buyers get into the property market sooner: The First Home-New Home Scheme, the First Home Owner Grant (New Homes) Scheme, and the New Home Grant Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current FHOG, called the \u2018First Home Owner Grant (New Homes) Scheme\u2019 applies only to those buying new homes, and&nbsp;provides eligible purchasers with $10,000&nbsp;to go towards purchasing or building a new home. This applies to anyone with an eligible transaction occurring after 1 January 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the eligible transaction occurred between 1 October 2012 \u2013 31 December 2015, then the grant amount is $15,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Home Buyers Assistance scheme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The First Home Buyers Assistance Scheme commenced from 1 July 2017. The scheme offers eligible buyers exemptions or concessions on property transfer duty.
